Dating back to the year 1195, St. Petri is the oldest of Hamburg's four main churches from the Middle Ages. The other three medieval churches are St. Nikolai, St. Katharinen and St. Jacobi.
The church St. Petri is located in the city center of Hamburg near the City Hall and the "Binnenalster". Now, it is not only used as church, but concerts and cultural events are carried out in St. Petri regularly as well.
