Hamburg Museums: Deichtorhallen

Hamburg Museums: Deichtorhallen

Since their opening in 1989, the Deichtorhallen have become popular exhibition halls. The two halls were built between 1911 and 1914 on the area of the previous "Berliner Bahnhof" as market halls.
The northern hall - "Internationale Kunst" - accommodates one of the largest exhibition areas for contemporary art in Europe where changing exhibition projects are realised. In the southern hall, the "Haus der Photographie", exhibition concerning photography as well as images of known and unknown photographers are shown.
