Built in 1962, the Cap San Diego still is the largest usable museum ship throughout the world. Once a year, the Cap San Diego goes to the sea for its regular journey to Kiel in Germany.
Since 1988, the Cap San Diego has been a museum dealing not only with the history of Hamburg's harbour, but also with seafaring in general. It is not only possible to have a stroll around the whole ship inclusive engineering room, but there are told stories about the fate of emigrants between 1850 and 1930 as well.
