Hamburg Museums: Kunsthalle

Opened in 1869, the collection of the Hamburger Kunsthalle rapidly increased. In order to get more space, the Kunsthalle received a new, second building with an exhibition area of 6,000 m².

Now, the Kunsthalle is renowned for its great collection of modern art. But also works from the Middle Ages and later are displayed. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, temporary ones are carried out regularly.
