The famous brick-lined Chilehaus became a listed building 1983. In addition, it is one of Hamburg's landmarks.
The Chilehaus was built in 1922 as office building in the "Kontorhausviertel" of Hamburg. Due to the use of the enormous amount of almost 5,000,000 bricks as well as its peculiar ship-like shape, the Chilehaus has become world famous.
